“At Covestro, we are convinced that through partnerships and initiatives like the RCI, we can accelerate the transition towards a GHG neutral chemical industry and achieve the switch to a fossil-free raw material base for our operations.”
The concept of renewable carbon has the potential to change the entire organic raw material base of the chemical industry. At Covestro we are realizing this concept and have invented ways that enable us to reuse CO2 as one renewable carbon source and we use biomass as another. Our strategic focus to develop on top recycling technologies to also make use of the carbon embedded in plastics after their use phase is complementing our approach to build an alternative raw material base. The Renewable Carbon Initiative is bringing together other stakeholders and frontrunner companies supporting this concept. We are convinced that together, through partnerships and initiatives like the RCI, we can accelerate the transition towards a GHG neutral chemical industry.
