H&R Group

At H&R we believe that being a member of RCI will add visibility to our activities for our potential partners and customers. We expect a significant contribution to boosting our strategy plans, for the renovation of our product portfolio towards renewable materials and the consequent reduction of our GHG Emissions.

Company Profile

The H&R Group focuses on the manufacturing of high-grade chemical-pharmaceutical specialty products, thereby benefiting from 100 years of experience, comprehensive expertise and efficient production processes. With the help of modern production sites and process technologies, we use hydrocarbons to produce more than 800 chemical-pharmaceutical specialty products such as label-free process oils, white oils and paraffins. Precision plastic parts complete our portfolio. Our products are components in the processes and products of numerous industries, for example, in cosmetics, in the food industry, in construction applications and lifestyle products, as well as in the automotive industry. Today, we manufacture and sell our products worldwide through an organically developed network. We rely on our own production facilities and sales/distribution units, as well as on production partnerships.

In total, the Group consists of 47 subsidiaries. The segments ChemPharm Refining and ChemPharm Sales are subdivided into production sites (Germany), processing sites (UK, Netherlands, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Thailand, Indonesia, South Africa) and sales sites (India, Vietnam, Australia, United States, Brazil).

We aim to successfully expand our global presence, and with this, transform our business to become a leader in sustainability. The H&R Group has therefore taken up several ambitious sustainability targets that aim to guide the company’s transformation process. These targets include:

  • We aim to process roughly 10,000 tons of non-fossil raw materials in 2023
  • By 2030, 70% of the manufactured core products should be based on renewable raw materials
  • We aim to achieve CO2 neutrality in our production by 2035

Aiming for carbon neutrality aligns closely with the urgency expressed by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). H&R has already laid the foundation for achieving this goal by implementing new process technologies and expanding its product portfolio through several projects, enabling H&R to move from a few products to solutions for a variety of industries.
